The Graduate Program in Plant Biology started its activities in 2020 and is hosted by UFMT (Federal University of Mato Grosso) at its main campus in the city of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil. We aim to form highly qualified human resources for teaching and research in the fields of algae, plants, and fungal biology. To achieve this, we employ a multidisciplinary approach that includes anatomy, ecophysiology, genetics, bioinformatics, and systematics to understand how these organisms evolve, interact with biotic and abiotic factors, and their potential for producing bioactive compounds.
